Having been raised in the church I’ve always had a conscience toward the Lord. After joining the Navy in 1976 though I had to find things out about the world that no believer should know. A life lived in the darkness, while knowing that God is displeased is a miserable existence. The Lord would send people in my life at different times to let me know He was still there and loved me very much.
In 1983 my grandfather who I was very close to, passed away. The Lord used that and a praying mother and sister to bring me back into fellowship with Him. The following year I found myself at Christ for the Nations, a Bible School in Dallas, for an intense two years of searching and seeking the Lord. It was there that I submitted my life to Christ once for all, and haven’t looked back.
It was also there that the Lord brought me and my precious wife Calinia together. Her faithfulness to the Lord and our relationship has made our marriage wonderful. Our 3 children, Isaac, Savannah, and Mystaya all serve the Lord today, which is our greatest joy.
It was at CFNI that I also fell in love with Praise music. Having been a musician since the 3rd grade, playing in church my whole childhood, I found the music of the Lord a soothing medicine, and my favorite way to give God glory. Leading worship has become my passion for almost 20 years now.
The pastoral ministry was quite a surprise, that the Lord brought my way 14 years ago. My greatest ministry desire is to help God’s people with every day life. The Lord has a very personal and specific plan for every life, and my hope is to help people search out and understand that purpose. It is there we find the greatest way to please the Lord, and our deepest contentment here on earth.
