Veritas

“Veritas” means TRUTH in Latin. The heart behind the Saturday night service here at Calvary comes from John 8:31-32 which says,

31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
33 They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can You say, ‘You will be made free’?”
34 Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. 35 And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. 36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

In the midst of a perverse generation that is in bondage to sin and whose eyes have been blinded – we simply want to be vessels of God by simply presenting the Word of God and introducing people to the Way, the TRUTH, and the Life that they might drink from the Living Water and never thirst again. Through the blood of Jesus is the only way for men to be set free from sin and for the spiritually blind to see the TRUTH. One way of accomplishing this task is by equipping the Body of Christ (the Church) for the work of ministry (serving others as unto the Lord) for the purpose of growing them up in Christ. (Ephesians 4:11-16)
